Two main exhibition was on display at Kiasma that day. One was called Face to Face, a showcase contemporary artworks through the theme of portraiture. Works are from various artists from Iran, Great Britain, Norway, Estonia and Finland.
The other exhibition on the 5th floor was by local artisit Jani Leinonen entitled School of Disobedience. It was spread over the entire 5th floor and also included what looked like a Burger King fast food restaurant counter, but instead was 'Hunger King'. This was an installation that premièred in Hungary where it was designed to highlight Hungary's twin crises of social inequality and homelessness.
The School of Disobedience exhibition also included many recognizable brand mascots and characters used to draw attention to the operative and production methods of global companies and to their marketing strategies.
Naturally the visit progressed into dinner at a nearby Thai restaurant!
